Finding Calm Beyond Screens
We are Durga Sahil and Diya, childhood friends who each faced our own lockdowns me navigating life in the U.S. with severe allergies, and Diya in India recovering from consecutive hand fractures and found ourselves trapped in endless scrolling that harmed our focus and confidence. Encouraged by family, I turned to sketching nature-inspired portraits, and Diya rediscovered calm through calligraphy, piano practice, and taking early steps toward surgical skills under her father’s guidance. Realizing how these personal passions helped us step back from screens, we co-founded Digital Detoxopedia to share authentic stories of using individual interests as genuine breaks. By blending Diya’s structured skill-building and mentorship approach with Durga Sahil’s resilience-driven creativity and athletic discipline, we invite everyone to hold each other accountable in reclaiming balance from digital overload—one creative pursuit at a time.
